Senior Engineering Project Design Studio

Senior Engineering Project Design Studio

Room 307 Transportation Building
Director: Tom Titone

The Senior Project Design Studio is the largest and most versatile lab space in the Department of Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering. Serving as the central hub for Capstone Project activity, the studio functions as a collaborative “commons”—bringing together people, tools, and ideas to turn engineering concepts into real-world solutions.

Students have access to:

  • A fully equipped computer lab with specialized software for CAD and analytical modeling, tailored to the unique demands of each project

  • Two 3D printers for rapid prototyping of mechanical designs

  • A spacious “dirty” lab ideal for reverse engineering, disassembly, hands-on experimentation, and building large-scale prototypes

  • Dedicated collaboration spaces that support team meetings, cross-project sharing, and idea generation

Designed for flexibility, the studio supports a wide range of engineering processes—from brainstorming and design, to fabrication, testing, and iteration. With storage areas, metrology equipment, access to technical references, and plenty of workspace, students are equipped with everything they need to push boundaries and deliver innovative final projects.

Whether you're building something never seen before, solving a complex systems challenge, or refining an existing design, the Senior Project Design Studio is built to support a "whatever it takes" mindset.
