Ph.D. Tuition & Fees
Students in our PhD program are fully funded through Grainger College of Engineering’s Five-Year PhD Funding Guarantee during their first five years of enrollment. Starting in Fall 2020, ISE PhD students are guaranteed a funded appointment for fall and spring that includes a full tuition waiver, a partial fee waiver, and a stipend. Students are also eligible for summer support. Students must remain in Good Academic Standing and successfully perform the duties of their assistantships.
M.S. Tuition & Fees
Tuition and fees will vary depending on your residency status, the degree you have been admitted to, and the number of credit hours you take per semester. On-campus students are charged tuition and fees as a "range" for fall and spring semesters. Online students and on-campus students taking summer credits are charged tuition and fees per credit hour. The Illinois Cost Calculator remains the best way to estimate your cost of attendance. Online students may also reference the online tuition webpage for more information.
Please note that funding opportunities such as research and teaching assistantships are not guaranteed for master's students. Several master's students have secured these opportunities; to have the best chance at doing so, we recommend applying early in the application window. Other funding options include scholarships, loans and employer reimbursement.
