Subject offerings of new and developing areas of knowledge in industrial engineering intended to augment the existing curriculum. May be repeated in the same or separate terms if topics vary.

The topics to be covered include models and algorithms for distributed control algorithms, Markov chains and random walks, distributed coordination algorithms such as consensus and gossip over networks, network games, diffusion and opinion dynamics over social networks, as well as quantization and synchronization phenomena in engineered systems.
