James H. and Carla A. Christensen Scholarship
Jim Christensen received his Bachelor of Science Degree in General Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1977. He began his career at Caterpillar Tractor Company in Peoria as a Research Engineer and, later, left to join Baxter Healthcare Corporation. Jim retired from Baxter as a senior manager in Information Technology in July 2013. Carla Christensen graduated from the University of Illinois in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education. She started her career with IBM Corporation and, later, joined Ex Libris, a ProQuest Company. Carla retired from Ex Libris in April 2020. Jim and Carla are excited to be a part of helping engineering students achieve their academic and career goals.
Criteria:
- Academic merit or financial need
- Preference may be given to students with a secondary field of concentration in Business or Computer and Information Systems. Factors such as work experience, civic and volunteer involvement, and leadership activities may also be considered.
- Renewable through senior year – must remain in good academic standing
