Oscar Zepeda (BSSED 2022), after a multi-year internship with Amazon,  has already accepted a full-time position with Amazon’s Lab126 for after graduation next year.

Oscar helped develop Amazon's new household robot The Astro. Specifically, he worked on the obstacle and navigation sensors (scroll down to technical details).

Oscar's Secondary Field Option is Digital Prototyping. As to why he chose ISE, Oscar says, "I was initially interested in the option of having flexibility with my major, ISE provides a birds-eye view of Engineering and having the option for a SFO lets you deep dive into the topics that interest you most. I knew I made the right choice after taking SE 101 and having so much fun with CAD design."

About his time in Amazon's Lab126, Oscar says, "My time with Amazon Lab126 has been so crucial to my development as an Engineer thus far. My team has empowered me as an Engineer to not be afraid to ask questions, be curious, and have faith in my work. Going into my first internship I was nervous because I felt inexperienced, but my time with Lab126 has provided me with valuable experiences and foundational skills to succeed as a design Engineer. All in all, I couldn't be any happier with my time as an Amazon intern and I look forward to starting my career with Amazon Lab126 next fall."

Congratulations, Oscar!
