Jeff Shamma
Jeff S. Shamma is the department head of ISE and holds the Jerry S. Dobrovolny Chair in ISE at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He has previously taught at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he held the Julian T. Hightower Chair in Systems and Controls.
Shamma earned his Ph.D. in systems science and engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1988. He is a Fellow of IEEE and IFAC and has received several awards, including the IFAC High Impact Paper Award, AACC Donald P. Eckman Award and NSF Young Investigator Award. He has also served as a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Control Systems Society and a keynote or semi-plenary speaker at numerous conferences, including NeurIPS, World Congress of the Game Theory Society, IEEE Conference on Decision and Control and the American Control Conference. Currently, Shamma is the
editor-in-chief of the IEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems.
