Bradley Mottier
Bradley Mottier retired from General Electric in 2023 as senior vice president and general manager. He was also president and CEO of GE Aviation Systems, responsible for non-engine aviation products and systems. Mottier graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with B.S. and M.S. degrees in engineering and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He also earned his pilot's license from the University of Illinois Institute of Aviation.
After graduation, Mottier moved to Rockford, Illinois, to join a small privately held business that manufactured ignition systems for small aircraft. That business would become Unison Industries, later acquired by General Electric Company. Mottier worked there until his retirement as senior vice president and general manager of General Electric Company and as president and CEO of GE Aviation Systems.
Over his 40-plus year career in aerospace, Mottier led or served on various industry associations, government boards and committees. He is a recipient of the Aviation Week & Space Technology Laureate Award, member of the President's Council for the University of Illinois and a distinguished alumnus of ISE. He established the annual Mottier Innovation Challenge to reward interdisciplinary entrepreneurship. Mottier also serves as a director of the Sontag Foundation, which funds brain cancer research and support groups.
Mottier is an avid pilot and aircraft owner. He rallies historic race cars and enjoys woodworking and fly fishing. He is also a mission pilot for Patient Airlift Services and lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with his wife, Jennifer, of 41 years. Together, they have three children and two grandchildren.
