Edward S. Fraser Award
Presented to an outstanding senior in Systems Engineering and Design based primarily on academic merit.
Edward Fraser is a 1939 graduate of Civil Engineering. However, when his son Bill came to the U of I, Bill decided that General Engineering was his preferred program. Edward, then a Vice President of Chicago Bridge and Iron, became so impressed with GE that in 1963 he set up the award for the outstanding senior in General Engineering (since renamed Systems Engineering and Design) that bears his name. Mr. Fraser is now retired and resides in Florida. The Edward S. Fraser Award is presented to the outstanding senior, based primarily upon academic merit and secondarily on activities.
