Henrique Reis bestowed the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Founders Award

Professor Henrique Reis was bestowed the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Founders Award, which is given by ASME’s Nondestructive Evaluation, Diagnosis, and Prognosis Division (NDPD).
           
The award recognizes senior personnel who have at least 25 years of experience in the field of nondestructive evaluation and structural health monitoring. The recipients of this award are chosen based on their contributions in the areas of publication impact, industrial work with impact on cost, reliability and availability of systems being inspected or monitored, pervasive use of the invented systems and technologies worldwide, and standardization of the NDPD methods.

Reis mentioned that his degrees are in mechanical engineering and that he has been working in this area since 1984. He said he is honored to have received this award.
