ISE Alumni Board President Maria Lupo (BSSED 2009) has been named one of the top 25 women in technology by Mission Critical.
Lupo is Automation Technical Authority at Environmental Systems Design, Inc. (ESD)
Lupo says, "As a child, my passion for art and helping the environment grew and evolved as I entered high school. These interests led me to expressing my creativity by choosing an elective AutoCAD class for two years. This gave me some insight into designing buildings using simple 3D modeling. From there, I became intrigued by how I could use my artistic and creative interests along with technology. When it came time to select a university and degree program, the ISE department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign offered the perfect degree program for me to develop my technical knowledge and learn more about the diverse career paths I could pursue in technology."
In 2017 Lupo was named as one of "40 Under 40" by Consulting Specifying Engineer.
