Yaosheng Xu joins ISE from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where she was a postdoctoral Principal Researcher. She received her Ph.D. in Statistics from Cornell University in 2022. Prior to joining Booth, she worked as an Applied Scientist at Amazon from 2022 to 2024. Her research focuses on stochastic networks and control, with an emphasis on queueing theory, steady-state performance analysis, and high-dimensional stochastic control. Her work develops tractable approximations and dynamic control policies for large-scale service systems, with applications to ride-hailing platforms, data centers, and LLM inference systems.
