Advice you would give to your college self: The learning outside the classroom is more important than the learning in the classroom.

Additional comments: I took part in IAESTE and other foreign internship programs three of the four summers I spent at UofI; to Finland, Germany and China. They were great opportunities that had a big impact on my life and career.
