Joseph Hartman

Joseph C. Hartman, Ph.D., P.E., serves as Provost, Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.  He previously served as the Dean of the Francis College of Engineering at UMass Lowell. Before joining UMass Lowell, he served on the faculty at the University of Florida and Lehigh University.  In addition to his General Engineering degree, he earned M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech. He resides in Acton, Massachusetts with his wife and three children.
