The Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation (NDT&E) Laboratory is at the forefront of research in one of the fastest-growing areas of manufacturing and construction. As industries seek higher standards for quality assurance, process monitoring, and infrastructure longevity, the demand for innovative NDT&E solutions continues to rise.

Our mission is twofold:

To develop cutting-edge methods of nondestructive testing in close collaboration with industry partners
To provide a dynamic, project-based learning environment that supports student innovation and growth

Industry involvement is not only welcomed it is essential. Our projects are designed to address real-world challenges, and partnerships with leading companies help ensure our work stays relevant, applicable, and impactful.

What began with used and reconditioned equipment -and a vision- has grown into one of the most advanced NDT&E facilities in the country. Today, the lab houses more than $650,000 worth of specialized equipment, supporting a wide range of research activities.

Driven by a talented cohort of graduate researchers, the NDT&E Lab is a hub for developing tools and techniques that inspect materials and structures without causing harm and helping to extend the life of critical systems, ensure safety and reduce costs across industries.
