Team EnvironThe winner of the 2021 Mottier Innovation Challenge is team Environ (en-VEE-ron).

Environ consists of students Paige Fugger (CEO), Raj Sankla (CTO), Owen Thamban (CFO), and Jeevisha Shukla (Marketing).

Their unique business model involves creating software to create customized safety manuals for companies. The software will combine input about the company's procedures with current regulations from the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OHSA). The software will save companies from the arduous procedure of writing their own safety procedures, and keeping them current as production techniques change, and as OHSA makes changes to safety law.

The idea was inspired by a summer internship during which Paige was tasked with writing safety manuals, and devised a more efficient technique.

Like last year's winner, Ascent Integrated Tech, Environ chose a narrow market space in which to innovate, rather than create a product for a general audience.

We wish Team Environ the best as they move on to the Cozad Venture Challenge!

Second place is Team Bizi (Shaan Ahuja & Justin Holding), a team creating an app that allows socially motivated consumers to choose locally owned businesses that reflect the consumer's values.

Third place is Team Un-flip-erella  (Priya Shah, Ashay Gandhi, & Arvin Sam), who have designed a revolutionary wind-resistant umbrella.
