Learn the Strategic Side of Systems Engineering
The College of Engineering at Illinois is among the world's most prestigious and largest engineering institutions, with graduate programs rated among the top five nationally. Our newly expanded department is building a powerhouse in industrial and enterprise systems engineering. Three M.S. and two Ph.D. programs are offered:
The Illinois Master of Science in Financial Engineering degree is both technical and pragmatic. Students receive training in the most advanced techniques, providing them the grounding and tools to advance quickly in the field. The program features practice-based learning opportunities which assure the curriculum is always demanding and contemporary. Further, the featured Practicum in the third semester of the program serves as a bridge with industry focusing on real world financial modeling problems. The IE program is based in advanced studies that focus on operations research, optimization, supply chain management, financial engineering, quality and reliability engineering and production management, with the aim to advance modeling, simulation, analysis and decision making for complex engineering systems. The SEE program is founded on the premise of dual competency in both traditional engineering and in the business side of engineering. The SEE program offers flexibility by permitting the student to select from a menu of advanced courses and take a wide range of electives to meet individual career goals. Graduates of these programs are prepared to enter professional engineering positions in industry, government, and private practice. A joint MS/MBA program allows the student to earn both the Master of Science in SEE or IE and the MBA degrees.
