Corporate Partners

The Department of Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering (ISE) welcomes an opportunity to work with corporate partners. We offer many levels and types of engagement to accomodate your corporation’s needs and interests.

While there are numerous avenues of collaboration, our primary venue to present your corporation to our students is our Engineer in Residence Program.

Engineer in Residence (EIR) Program

The Engineer in Residence Program allows companies the opportunity to give presentations to our student body in both formal and informal settings. This program includes

  • A presentation to the Systems Engineering and Design 290 class, which consists of ISE sophomores, juniors and seniors, and meets Thursdays at noon
  • Individual/small group meetings with students
  • A more casual evening presentation open to all students in the department

The evening presentation, hosted by the department, can be co-hosted by the student organization of your choice (for example, Institute for Industrial Engineers, Illinois Society of General Engineers, etc.).

In addition to the traditional EIR schedule, ISE will also host a Corporate Day for your company. You’ll be able to set up tables in the Transportation Building (TB) to meet and hand out materials to students during the day. Your visit will be promoted throughout the department using social media, newsletters, fliers, and plasma screens in the building. The Corporate Day can take place on the Wednesday prior to your EIR, on Thursday in conjunction with EIR, or the Friday after EIR.

Sponsored Research—$TBD / yr

ISE conducts groundbreaking research in Data Analytics, Decision and Control Systems, Design and Manufacturing, Financial Engineering, and Operations Research. We can bring labs and research teams to bear to advance your projects. Contact us with a proposal for how ISE can partner with your company.

Senior Engineering Project—$9500 / project

Student teams work with industry partners to solve specific problems. Results are documented in a final written report and a formal presentation to the company. Many companies have seen these solutions implemented, increasing productivity and profitability. Read more about this opportunity.
